Fun, Food, Friends and Fellowship :)
This year marks the first Thanksgiving Feast in Room 104. The idea was adapted from a fellow teacher and friend, Mrs. Lunsford. Thanks to such supportive and caring parents we had a wonderful feast today! We were able to put our learning into our tummies today as we compared what we have learned about the very first Thanksgiving and how we celebrate Thanksgiving today. We thoroughly enjoyed our turkey and mac and cheese! Venison and beans did not make our menu like they did for the very first Thanksgiving, but we did give thanks for each of our items and each other.

After they ate, they had a chance to decorate their 'tablecloth' with what that they are thankful for.
BIG IDEA:
Various cultural groups within the United States helped shape our nation's culture.
We started this unit off learning about Native Americans and their cultural contributions to our world. Each student created a totem pole representing their family, ancestors, and heritage. Here are pictures of these awesome works of art that tell amazing stories about each child and their family.
~ A special thanks to William for taking the photographs and being very detailed by making sure he took pictures of each side of the totem pole if there was work that he couldn't get in one picture. :)
In honor of Red Ribbon Week we had a special dress up day for each day of the week! Here are some of our pictures from the week!
