Oil Spill, Firefighter and Social Studies

Oil Spill, Firefighter and Social Studies

In our Oil spill experiment we are discovering how does the Oil spill pollute the ocean. The group leaders stir the HERSKEY cocoa and put the egg in the bowl. When we felt the egg, the egg was getting harder. In an Oil spill will pollute the ocean and harm or even kill animals. The firefighter was talking about the safty tips. They show us how they wear their gear too. They gave a little homework for us to do. The other day we did Social Studies! At Social Studies we did maps. We read maps. We repurted what we have in our map key.

A note from Mrs. Allen...
Winsabell did a FABULOUS job highlighting important events from our week! Thank you Winsabell for all of your hard work!! :)
Here are a few other engaging moments in ROOM 104 from that week...
Since we are learning about animals in our Science/Reading Unit and we are learning about maps in our Social Studies Unit, it would only be fitting to have a Wonderopolis Question... "Do Bats Need Maps?" http://wonderopolis.org/wonder/do-bats-need-maps/
Here is a picture of us engaged in our learning...
We were amazed at what we saw and read about!
So, even though we learned that bats don't need maps, it doesn't mean that we don't....

We also created a vocabulary flip book on important words that we have been focusing on throughout this unit. Here are some pictures of us working with a partner...
